Methodology
Identity claims stay separate from network evidence
User-agents are matched with boundary-aware patterns. When a provider publishes official ranges, the optional IP is compared with the dated snapshot committed to the registry. The result reports each evidence class independently, with its source and verification date.
Limitations
A user-agent can be copied
A matching user-agent is an identity claim, not authenticity proof. A published range match strengthens network evidence but does not prove intent, policy compliance, ownership of a request, or what a provider did with fetched content.
